How come sometimes on people's LJs the same style of their LJ comes up when you click on it to make a comment or read behind a cut, and sometimes something like shows up instead?

I've always wondered about that. Is is something in the settings or what?

Give me black text on a white background in a 10 or 12 pt font, baby! ;)) Oh, I agree :)

Where I mostly notice it doesn't work is on an entry in a comm where the cutline referral is back to the original LJ rather than just hiding the entry behind a cut on the comm itself. If that makes sense. Better said, I guess, would be you write a fic and really post it on bjfic.com behind a cut. Then, when I click the cut, I see the entry in my LJ style. If you write a fic on your own LJ and then just post a link on bjfic.com that takes me back to your LJ, then I'm going to see the fic in your style until I add the ?style=mine at the end of addy there in your journal. Hmm, interesting. Had never noticed that before, although that might just be due to the fact that I hardly read any fic anymore these days. Knew there had to be an upside to that ;b

And then there's the v.v. weird anomaly of someone's LJ (can't remember whose) who posts in the tiniest font and that, no matter what I do, the font doesn't show up in my default font. The style of the entry is my own, but the font isn't. I'm clueless on that one. That is very odd indeed. Never came across that either. Maybe it's someone's LJ who's really savvy with all the computer stuff and has some overrides installed or something? Or it's just LJ in its infinite wisdom - always an option ;)
