I know very little about some of the people on my friends list.

Some of you I know relatively well. Some I know too well (you know who you are; I read your journals or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally.)

Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself? It can be any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so..."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Hi, i live in Australia God's country we call it lol I am a socialworker in child protection, mother of two magnificent adult children and I have been married for 30 years. My husband indulges my passion for all things QAF and anything Gale related with a quite acceptance. I enjoy your stories and most of the time I am a lurker usually because I am so dam busy, cheers all Chris

It's so cool your husband indulges your passion for QAF and Gale.

And I'm so glad you enjoy my fics. I've become a bit of a lurker myself recently.

Thanks so much for commenting! :)

You know how bad I am at commenting and here you go and make me do it. What don't you know about me??? My blood type is O positive, I wear size 7 shoes, and I hate lamb. In high school I wore my hair as short and sometimes shorter than the boys, but now it hangs down to my ass. (Can you say identity crisis?) I'm a science geek of the first order and I was a cheerleader...*hangs head* I played the flute in my high school marching band and sang in the choir. My husband sums it up pretty well when he calls me his little bi-switch witch bitch. Is that enough?

O positive....is that the universal one?

I was gonna play flute in school, but the guy who I thought was soooooo cute decided he wanted to play the French Horn! So, of course, to spend more time around him I decided that I would play the French Horn too! Brilliant idea, yeah? *shakes head at self*

Something about me--- I despise mustard. I love my couch. Im in grad school for social work and I love my job.

There, that wasnt so hard.

I think I'm more open here than I am in real life.

I'm not a fan of mustard myself. Instead of getting it on a hamburger I substitute mayo for it. This one guy at work thinks it is completely disgusting.

Hi! I'm a mom of a 21 year old and a 17 year old. My daughter (who's almost 22) is the one who introduced me to QaF and LJ and I've been having fun ever since. :D

Happy Holidays! ♥

WOW let me see here. Something about myself huh? OK here goes. I am positive pat, those that know me will agree this is the best name. I am a tough minded optimist, always looking to help my friends with some positive thoughts when they are down. When people need some help, cheering up or someone to listen and cheer them on they call or email me. I have been in Social Work and Education for years. I own a private school in Atlanta Ga. (Gale's hometown and Randy's too. Hummm) My passion is film and I am a filmmaker, writer, director and actor. I am very involved in the film world here in Atlanta and last year had a film in the Atlanta Film Festival and hope to do it again this year. I am the person you see on line everywhere promoting Falling for Grace for Fay and Gale. I monitor both the FFG My Space and FFG LJ. Basically I go 24/7 as you can see.

Now I bet you wished you had not asked me this question because now you know more about me than you really cared to. LOL

Best
Pat

Whoah whoah whoah..NUKE! I see you must watch ATWT! Holy shit! So do I. Have for years and years and years and I've been using Luke for a character in my Season 6 as I've been writing it. I don't think he was NUKE yet at that point, anyway... he's Emmett's match. But... I just have to say that I looooove that SOMEONE else in the b/j fandom loves it too. I didn't know.

Now, do you have any idea if there is some fanfic or an actual fandom for this?

So yeah.. that's one thing you don't know about me. Cause I'm sure last night you learned more than you could ever have wanted to know.

I watch the Noah/Luke scenes on YouTube. LOL

I only know of (for now) the [livejournal.com profile] luke_noah comm. There are probably a few more. And the only author I'm familiar with that writes some fanfic for NUKE is [livejournal.com profile] bigboobedcanuck.

It was so much fun talking with you and Rena last night. :)

What a great idea for a post! I shall steal it... ;)

Hmm what don't you know about me? That's the question LOL. Let's see. I'm 27, live in Central Valley, California, I'm a court reporter, I'm 5'2", I have hazel green eyes, I have big boobs... um... I love to read, write, and I play two instruments. I have two black cats... I'm the youngest of three girls, with a 11 and 12 year age difference between us. My nose is pierced, and I've always wanted to dye my hair blue.

I can only play one song on the recorder. Mary Had a Little Lamb. I'm the youngest too. Only I have two older brothers who are 10 and 8 years older. I want to do something funky fun with my hair just once, but because of my job, I can't really.

Hmmm, what can I say? Well, I discovered QAF as a really roundabout fluke -- I picked up spontaneously and moved to Florida with about 12 hours decision to get away from an abuse boyfriend I later went back to (but am no longer with) and moved in with a friend of mine I had originally met on the internet years before through the Buffy fandom. Another mutual friend of ours we had also met on the internet came to visit from California for a few days and my roomie decided to introduce her to QAF, assuming I wouldn't be interested. Well, she wasn't hooked, but I was.

What else? I'm 22-going-on-12, I live in a million dollar house but can barely pay my bills, I have the strangest marriage in the world, and the most bizarre job I have ever worked is that of an escort (NOT a hooker, there was no sex).

I pretty much discovered QAF by fluke too. Kinda. I was browsing on amazon.com and saw it and I had heard a little bit about it before. I thought it was just about guys going to a club and having a lot of sex. I bought it ever since I was hooked.

I've only had two jobs. A dishwasher for a summer and the one I have now as a bank teller.

Hmmm... lets see what I can tell you about me.

I took about 3 years off after school and didn't do much. lol I babysat a friends 2 daughters for about 2 and a half years, and I loved it, but the pay started to not be enough since it was only a few hours a day. After that I started working as a secretary/receptionist/jack-of-all-trades for my one sisters boyfriend. It was supposed to be temporary and almost 9 years later, I'm still here. :) The best part of the job is that unless I'm really busy, I can spend a good part of the day on lj and reading fic. *grins*

I also have a huge desire to travel, but no money, no one to go with and fear of flying/boats keeps me where I am. :P

From: [identity profile] oh-amelia.livejournal.com
I went to work directly after school. I have a feeling if I don't do something soon, I'll be at the same place for years and years. Which wouldn't be too bad. If I could move up in position.

One thing I like about what I do now is that I too can be at work and still read and write fanfic. *grins*

I want to travel too! But, I am a tad stingy with my money. And I too have a slight fear of flying. I think like, my plane would be the one to have all kinds of malfunctions and I'll plumet to my death. And I heard that some people's ears pop. Sounds very uncomfortable. :| And I don't know where I'd want to go. If I go to a foreign country then I'd have to learn some of the language. And I can't even remember anything useful from my High School spanish class. All I can say is: No habla espaƱol. And that isn't very helpful. :/

A couple years ago, I started to look into a new job, but since I never went to college, I'm not 'qualified' for jobs in the same area I'm in now. :P Experience apparently doesn't count anymore. But since I'm working for family, the atmosphere is pretty relaxed and if I need to take off for any reason, it's not a problem.

The only possible dream traveling I may actually be able to reach is going to Canada. I would love to travel the whole ways across and visit each NHL arena for a hockey game. Only thing is money and time off work. My other dream trip is to go all over Europe and visit castles, but that is probably NEVER going to happen.

The bank where I work will let us move up in certain areas, but they won't pay us well if we don't have a college education. There is this woman who is a loan officer. She has been there for years. She has tons of experience and all that, but! she didn't go to college. Then a guy came to work for the bank. He went to a fancy schmancy school (like $40,000 a year) and had a degree and all that. For that reason alone, even though he JUST CAME TO WORK he gets paid more than she does when she had been there for probably 10 years.

I'd love to make a trip to Canada. I was planning on going in 2010 for the QAF convention Elsa Rose puts on, but I don't think I'll be going anymore. I lost touch with the people I was planning on going with, and I haven't really been over to the site (MW) in so long. ANd that is where most of the contact went on. I don't go there for reasons I won't get into cause I could go on forever and ever. Somewhat similar reasons as to why I won't go to bjfic.net anymore.

There's actually not much of a chance for me to move up in my company, but then it's only myself and the boss. lol When I first started working there, there were two other people, but they left after a few years. But it is challenging and changing at times. We deal in business administration/accounting/business development loan presentations. So there's a lot going on usually.

I've only been on MW and bjfic a few times to read recced fics, but never checked out anything else. I keep my contact for QAF on LJ & IJ.

Hey Emily,
Well let's see... I'm Canadian. I'm 21. My bday is on Feb 2nd and I'm an aquarius. God writing this is taking a while coz my dad is irritating the fuck out of me. Umm let's see... I finished college and now I'm working in Law. QAF if the shit! HP is a good addiction. I love music, I love painting, I love writing, vidding... etc. I have a nice group of friends. My laughter is contagious. I'm short I find. Erm... for more info lol just look at my memes.. there's enough that I've done where you can know pretty much all about me.
Later,
France

Well, you certainly have your share of interesting posters. I'm not so interesting...

I'm a functioning adult. Mother of five (two steps I'm still close to even though their father and I have been divorced for *gasp* 18 years). I'm a total Lord of the Rings geek, and do book reviews at a science fic/fantasy website that gets tons of hits every week (which amazes all of us who started it). I also have another obsession (meaning other than QAF) and belong to a literary group, and we have conventions every two years. So I've traveled to Dublin, Cornwall, Paris and Malta since 2000. The "internets" are a wonderful thing.......credit GWB, and then let's give him the old heave-ho.

My friend is trying to get me to watch the LOTR movies. She is like, "You'll love them!" I'm not too sure. But her arguement is that I didn't think I'd like Harry Potter, and now I am like totally in love with the books (movies are okay. they could be better. Make me a 4 or 5 hour long HP movie!) and Harry/Draco fic. So, I might give it a try and go buy the movies and see what I think. How many are there? 2 or 3? I know there is the Fellowship of the Ring(s) and the Two Towers. But that's all I know.

Well, here's the deal. My first-born is an inveterate reader, so I gave him the books when he was, maybe, eleven and he devoured them and then turned into a Dungeons & Dragon gamer geek, which he still is, and goes every year with his gamer-geek friends to WorldCon, and he's 35 years old. My youngest, Robbie, is an occasional reader, but when all the excitement about the movies happened, he decided to read the books, and was totally hooked, and loved them. I'm probably not the best person to advise you, since my mantra is "Read The Books" and then see the movies. But if you're not a reader, Peter Jackson did an awesome job of bringing Tolkien's series to life, and there are tons of moviegoers who loved them even though they hadn't read the books. You're right - it's Fellowship, then TwoTowers, and last, Return of the King. The books are named the same, and in the same order. You decide. But you must admit that millions of people who love both the books and movies can't be wrong. So dive in....

Oh, I LOVE reading. I read all 7 Harry Potter books in a row. Couldn't put them down. I so love the books more than the movies. If I read a book, and then a movie comes out of it, I generally like the book more than the movie. Movies leave soooo much out. I hate that.

I think I might give the books and movies a try. Though, I'll have to wait until after all the craziness from the holidays settle down so I can really enjoy them. And I've gotten too far away from books ever since I discovered fanfic, that I need something good to get me back into the swing of it. The last books I read were the Harry Potter ones. And that was the last part of July.

I'll come back and tell you what I thought of them. :)

If you love to read, that makes all the difference. I'm convinced you'll enjoy the books, and then be totally on board for the movies. It might be interesting to follow someone who is reading the books, as they are also following the movies. Want to be an articulate commentator in this scenario? I would love to follow it.

Hello! I live in California but I hail from Chicago. I'm a writer which just means I'm an unemployed student. :) I love the Muppets to death LOL! Seriously since I was like three or something. I've loved them. LOL. Oops...accidentally hit the comment button...

Let's see...I'm an avid reader of anything and everything. I write, of course, and am obsessed with QaF, Torchwood and a number of other fandoms. It's a bit unhealthy I think. LOL. I think that's about it. I mean I'm sure there's more but I'm drawing a blank.
