“So, where’s Mr. Wonderful?” Nathan asked as he flopped down on Justin’s couch.
“He’s out with Michael,” Justin answered.
“Why?”
“To shut him up,” the blonde stated simply. “Michael has been wanting a ‘Brian and Mikey’ night, so Ben is left by himself tonight.”
“It’s still weird to picture the two of them together. They’re just so different.”
“I thought so, too, at first,” Justin said as he handed Nathan a beer and sat down next to him. “But if you think about it, it makes sense.”
“How so?”
“Well, Michael needs someone who is mature but won’t treat him like a child. And you know that Ben can be way too serious sometimes. They balance each other out.”
“Hmm. I guess. So, did Brian ever make a decision about the dinner at your mom’s?” Nathan asked, changing the subject.
“Yeah. We’re going Friday night.”
“He’s giving up a Friday night? Wow. I’m impressed.”
“Don’t be. He figures dinner will be over in time for us to still hit Babylon.” Justin chuckled. “It’s a good thing he doesn’t know how much my mom likes to talk.”
“You must really care about him if you’re already introducing him to your mom. I remember it was at least 4 months before you even mentioned Derek to her.”
“Yeah, well, we were still slightly strained then, too. And I was younger.”
“If you didn’t have a strained relationship then, would it have made a difference?”
“I might have told her about him sooner, but I doubt that I would be as quick to introduce them.”
The buzzer went off on the dryer interrupting their conversation.
“Be right back,” Justin said as he got up and went to the laundry room.
The phone rang and Nathan looked at the Caller ID. “What the fuck do you want?”
“Ah, Nathan. I should have known you’d be there.”
“I’ll ask again, what the fuck do you want?”
“I want to talk to Justin. That’s why I called him. Now put him on the fucking phone. Now.”
“No.”
“No?”
“I’m not letting you talk to him.”
“You’re not letting me?”
“Are you just gonna start repeating everything I say?”
“It’s not your decision to make whether or not we talk to each other.”
“Derek. Fuck. Off. Justin has found someone and he’s happier than I’ve ever seen him before. Sure as hell a lot more so than when he was with you,” Nathan went on as he paced the room. “Brian Kinney is the best fucking thing to happen to him in a long time. So, I suggest you don’t do anything to fuck it up for him. If you do, so help me God, I will make you live to regret it.” He hung up the phone, not giving Derek a chance to respond.
“Who was that on the phone?” Justin asked as he came back to the living room.
“No one,” Nathan lied. “Just a damn telemarketer.”
“Oh. So, wanna help me fold clothes?” Justin asked as he sat down on the floor with the laundry basket.
“Might as well,” Nathan answered as he slid to the floor. “So, have you been able to coerce Brian into doing this with you yet?”
“No, I haven’t even considered it. It would be too ‘domestic’ for him. The only interest he had in my washer and dryer was fucking on them.”
“But you are happy?”
“Yeah.” Justin smiled. “I am.”
~~~~~
Nathan stood outside Kinnetik and hoped that he was doing the right thing. When Justin told him last night that he’d be at the gallery all day today, he knew what he had to do. He took a deep breath and headed inside. Cynthia greeted him as he made his way to Brian’s office.
“Nathan, hey. How are you today? Justin isn’t in today,” she said as she sorted through the files on her desk.
“I’m good, Cynthia. Thanks for asking.” Nathan smiled charmingly. “I’m actually here to see the boss. Think you can get me in?”
“Let me see.”
“Just tell him it concerns Justin.”
“Did something happen? Is he alright?”
“No, nothing like that. He’s fine,” he assured her.
“Brian,” Cynthia said into the phone. “Nathan is here to see you. He said it’s about Justin.” She paused to listen. “Okay.” She hung up the phone. “Go on in.”
“What do you want?” Brian asked him as soon as he entered the office.
“I need to talk to you,” Nathan said as he sat down in front of the desk.
“Figured as much.”
“Justin’s ex called him yesterday. Or rather, he called and I intercepted.”
“Justin doesn’t seem to be particularly fond him, so why should it matter?”
“Because he had that tone of pathetic desperation in his voice,” Nathan explained. “The one he gets when he wants Justin back.”
“What? You think that he will start crying and Justin will go running back? You obviously haven’t been paying attention to him lately.”
“No,” Nathan scoffed. “He knows Justin won’t because I told him that he was over him, that he was involved with someone. But that won’t stop him from causing trouble.”
“So, why is it you’re telling me this and not Justin?”
“Because Justin doesn’t know he called. I didn’t tell him.”
“Wouldn’t it be smart to tell Justin so he isn’t blindsided if his ex does do something?”
“I’m gonna tell him eventually; probably after the dinner with his mom. He’s really looking forward to that and I don’t want him worrying about anything other than the dinner.”
“But what am I supposed to do? I told him that I’d always be honest with him. I can’t not tell him.”
“I’ll handle that when the time comes.”
“But again, why are you telling me this?”
“Because even though Justin’s stronger now than when he was in New York, he still has insecurities. You saw that demonstrated not too long ago. And that asshole ex of his knows how to play on those. I want to make sure that you are going to be there for him if it happens.”
“As long as he doesn’t start accusing me of shit or compare me to his ex, I’ll be there to help him.”
“Good, cause I’d hate to have to kick your ass, too,” Nathan said as he stood up.
“I don’t see that happening.” Brian smirked.
“Talk to ya later.”
“Whatever,” Brian muttered as he went back to the work on his computer.
Nathan walked out of Kinnetik and wondered if he did the right thing. He was risking Justin’s happiness by going to Brian and he sure hoped that he was right by doing so. He was serious, too. If either Brian or Derek hurt Justin the consequences would not be pretty.
~~~~~
Brian rested on his elbows, and watched from the bed as the blonde got ready to go to his mother’s house. “Its fucking dinner with your mom at her house,” he said. “Why are you so worried about what you’re wearing?”
“I’m just nervous,” Justin answered as he kept rummaging through his closet. “I really want her to like you. And I want you to like her, too.”
“Of course she will like me. I’m sure we’ll get along great,” he said as he got up and walked over to the nervous boy. “If you want, I can give you a blow job to help calm your nerves.” He tilted Justin’s chin up and leaned down to capture the blonde’s lips with his. He moved his hands to rest on the sides of Justin’s neck as he deepened the kiss.
“As much as I would love that,” Justin said when he finally broke the kiss. “I’m gonna have to take a rain check. There’s not enough time.”
“Whatever for?” Brian asked as he kissed and sucked on the side of Justin’s neck. “There’s always time for a blow job,” he said as he slipped his hand in Justin’s underwear and stroked the hardening shaft. He ran his thumb across the slit and rubbed the pre-cum over the head. “Or at least a hand job.”
Justin threw his head back to give Brian better access to his neck. He moaned as Brian stroked his cock. He gripped his biceps as the older man brought him closer to orgasm.
Brian’s strokes became faster and longer and he continued the attack on the blonde’s neck until Justin erupted in his hand.
“That was great,” Justin said as he tried to regain control of his breathing.
“Better now?” Brian asked as he released the softening member.
“Much,” he answered as he kissed Brian soundly on the lips. “Thanks.”
“Anytime,” the brunette answered as he went to the bathroom to wash his hands.
Justin changed his underwear and decided on a pair of jeans and a navy blue sweater. He grabbed his dirty clothes and headed for the laundry room to put them in the hamper. On the way he noticed in the small mirror in the hallway, a hickey starting to appear on his neck. He grinned and shook his head. He was gonna have to get Brian back for that. He dumped his clothes off and rummaged for some clean socks before heading to the living room. He saw that Brian was already there, sitting on the couch waiting for him.
“That wasn’t very nice,” he said as he sat down next to Brian. He pulled his shoes out from underneath the coffee table.
“Whatever are you talking about?” Brian asked in his most innocent voice.
“I’m talking about the nice little present you left on my neck.”
“I thought you liked it when I marked you like that.”
“I do,” Justin answered. “Just not before going to see my mom.”
“Oh well.” Brian sighed. “I guess we’ll just have to wait on dinner with your mom until it goes away,” he teased.
“I don’t think so, Buster.”
“Buster?” Brian asked the blonde quizzically.
“What? You prefer something more endearing? Baby, pookie, honey, sweetie?” Justin said between kisses.
“I don’t fucking think so, Sunshine. You do that and I won’t blow you for a week.”
“Like I believe that.” Justin laughed and shook his head. He had no intention of ever using those names for Brian, but he couldn’t help but tease the older man about it. “You know you can’t resist my cock.”
“If we keep talking about your cock, we’re never going to make it to your mother’s on time,” Brian said as he nipped at the blonde’s neck
“Ugh.” Justin groaned. “That just killed the mood. No more talk of my mom and cock in the same sentence,” he joked.
“Deal,” Brian said as he and Justin stood up. “Now, let’s get going. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can leave, and the sooner I can have my cock buried in you tight little ass.”
“Ah, ever the romantic.” Justin laughed before Brian pulled him close for a kiss.
“Don’t you know it.” He grinned as he handed the blonde his coat and put on his own. He took Justin’s hand and opened the door. He was shocked by what he saw.
“Derek,” they both said as the same time.
Justin looked from Derek to Brian and got a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach. He let go of the hand entwined with his and took a step back.
“What? No hug hello?” Derek smirked as he stood in the doorway.
“What the fuck are you doing here, Derek?” Justin asked hoping that his voice wouldn’t betray him.
“I’m here to see you, Sunshine.”
“Don’t call me that. Don’t you dare fucking call me that,” he spat at his ex-boyfriend.
“Justin,” Brian said quietly as he reached for the blonde’s hand.
“No.” Justin pulled his hand away and stepped back again. “Don’t.”
“Oh.” Derek laughed as he leaned slightly forward. “And in case your pretty little blond head is having trouble processing this all right now, I’m the guy Brian has been fucking every time he’s been to New York.”
